Our review
Trello is the easiest PM tool to learn. Pure Kanban. Best for personal task management and small teams (under 10) with simple workflows. Outclassed by ClickUp/Asana for teams with complex needs.
Pros
- Easiest learning curve in the category
- Cheapest paid tier at $5/mo per user
- Free tier supports unlimited boards (with 10/workspace)
- Power-Ups for adding capabilities (Butler automation, calendar, etc.)
- Owned by Atlassian — strong integration with Jira/Confluence
Cons
- Limited to Kanban view (no Gantt, Timeline, Workload natively)
- Not suited for complex project structures
- Power-Ups can add up in cost
- Reporting is weak
